Honeycomb: The World Beyond Titanium, Copper & Biomass
The most common questions on the Steam forum in launch week, with what the developer and players answered. We cannot check locations in game ourselves, so each answer names its source.
Titanium
- Some loose titanium lies near the start to get you going, and the pod’s map shows titanium from EON’s orbital scan.
- The developer’s advice to a player who could not find it: “place a marker on the map and use AR Mode”.
- A player added: “It’s across the valley on a rocky ledge opposite the entrance to the landing location.”
- Titanium is a known resource, so it does not need scanning before you can use it (Gamescom 2025).
Copper
“It should be relatively close to the landing pod,” the developer replied to a player stuck without it.
Magnetite and underground ores
Hive Update #14 shows titanium and magnetite as surface resources. Buried minerals are dug up with the trowel, which is a passive tool you only need to equip. Underground deposits were made “more visible and better integrated” before launch, and AR mode highlights ore veins. Later, automated miners dig them for you.
Metal ore is heavy: lockers fill up by weight long before they run out of slots.
Biomass
“There should be biomass in your inventory after the usable plant parts reached 0%,” a player explained. In other words, rotting food turns into biomass. If you turned off decay in Engineer mode, another player reports that un-planting seeds gives biomass too.
Strider horns
Imperial Striders shed their horns. A player found them “literally on the ground around the natural nest”, near nests “near the volcano in the middle of the map”. Striders are shy but not hostile.
The fertilizer recipe
Players on the forum had biomass and horns and were still missing one ingredient. One reply says “You want Chuls, but they ARE hostile”, but no other source names Chuls, so treat it as unconfirmed. We will add the full recipe once a source publishes it. Frozen Way says fertilizer and different soils increase how much a grow pod yields.

Plant materials
Sweet Tarax stems are fibrous enough for textiles, and processed Ebony Linter gives “structural integrity” for high-durability gear. See the plants page.
Respawns
Hover a node on the map to see how much it produces and how much is left right now. Resources respawn, so check the map before walking back through a tunnel.
