Honeycomb: The World Beyond Survival & Immunity Guide
From Frozen Way’s Dev Update #10 (the survival guide of 23 May 2024), Hive Update #14 (11 December 2025), the Field Survey Logs, and launch-week players.
The stats
| Stat | What drains it | How to restore it |
|---|---|---|
| Condition (health) | Injuries, disease, poisonous food, animal attacks | Light meds (herbal tea) or advanced meds (bandages, painkillers from the aid station) |
| Hunger | Time and activity | Food: raw fruit, cooked meals, canned food |
| Thirst | Time and activity; Prism Nut makes it worse | Water bottles from the filter; smoothies, tea, energy drinks |
| Rest | The day; time skips drain it too | Sleep, only at a base |
| Stamina | Sprinting and hard work | Stand still for a moment |
| Immunity | Being outside after pathogens start | Immunity pumps, Cobalt Sargent tea |
| O2 | Toxic air, being underwater | Gas mask, rebreather, both time-limited |
“If stamina drops too low, she risks a knockout – our unique take on character death,” Frozen Way wrote. You come round weakened. Only Space Hell mode has permanent death.
Immunity and pathogens
Hive Update #14 introduced Immunity: Sota7’s air carries pathogens no visitor can handle. EON-sealed structures such as your base are safe; “the moment you step outside? It’s game-on.” Hennessy gets the blueprint for Immunity pumps, which you equip to raise Immunity and stay out longer. The top one, the IM-Pump V, is the hidden Invincible achievement’s internal ID (0.8% of players on 10 September 2026).
- When it starts: after the “rest in bed” step of the Creature Comforts quest. The pod bed does not count, so you can explore first (Alidove).
- Cobalt Sargent, a Headlands herb that grows in caves, is safe raw, makes tea and carries “IM-X immunostimulant properties”.
- The Scarlet Seeker found some plants raise the Immunity level when eaten.
Food and decay
Picked plants start rotting straight away. Launch-week threads call it too fast (“a few hours in game”), and Hotfix #1 (9 September 2026) made carried items degrade about half as fast. Ways to cope that players describe:
- Eat what you pick, or turn it into seeds, which never rot.
- Grow it at home and harvest when needed.
- Keep food in a fridge; one player says it stops the spoilage counter.
- Make canned food in the food fabricator when you carry an empty can.
Rotten plant parts become biomass, which you need for fertilizer. If you turned off decay in Engineer mode, a player reports that un-planting seeds also gives biomass.
Cooking and water
The Cooker (later the multicooker) makes toxic plants safe; Frozen Way’s example is making “toxic antus edible and tasty”. The Water Dispenser turns river water into clean water. One water filter is plenty.
Hazards
- Toxic air makes you dizzy and can knock you out far from home; the gas mask buys time.
- Poisonous plants (Green Naga, Ebony Linter) must be processed. Eating one raw unlocks As White As Snow (23.1%).
- Territorial animals protect their nests. See the animals page.
For difficulty settings that change drain rates, see game modes.
