LANDING PROTOCOL
Your First Hours on Sota7
- Pick a game mode you will keep. Scientist is the recommended balance. World settings cannot be changed after the save starts, so read the game modes guide first.
- Scan everything. The Analyzer and AR mode fill your database, and the map shows how much of each resource node is left. See the beginner guide.
- Build the first base, then move it. The quest pins you next to the pod; dismantling refunds 100%, so rebuild on flat ground. See base building.
- Grow plants at home. A grow pod needs water, power and a bee pipe; two plants of the same family in one pod can cross. See crossbreeding.
- Do the Field Sedation quest early. Its dart gun and plant darts are more useful than the quest reward suggests. See tools and drones.

FAQ
What is Honeycomb: The World Beyond?
A single-player survival sandbox by Frozen Way, the studio behind House Flipper, published by Snail Games USA on 8 September 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. You play Hennessy, an EON Corp bioengineer on the planet Sota7, scanning and befriending wildlife, building a modular base and crossbreeding plants and animals to find a cure for a dying Earth.
Is it Honeycomb, Hunny Cumb or Honeycomb World Beyond?
All the same game. It was announced in 2021 simply as Honeycomb, and the subtitle The World Beyond was added in November 2023. Searches for honeycomb world beyond, honeycomb game or the misspelling hunny cumb all point to it. It has nothing to do with the Squid Game honeycomb challenge or the New York Times word puzzle.
Does Honeycomb: The World Beyond have multiplayer or co-op?
No. It is single-player only. Frozen Way stopped work on co-op in March 2023, and in September 2026 the developer told players on Steam it is 'not at the moment, but we're open to a lot of things post-release'.
Who Keeps This Wiki
Honeycomb: The World Beyond Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource for Honeycomb: The World Beyond players — not affiliated with Frozen Way.
- How we verify: species names, zones and behaviour come from Frozen Way's own Sota7 Field Survey Logs and devlogs on Steam; anything else carries the name of the forum thread, developer reply or video it came from, with a date. If two sources disagree, both are printed.
- Update cadence: Steam achievement rates and review counts are re-read every week, and each Frozen Way hotfix is read against the survival, base and known-issues pages within two days of it going up.
- What we don't do: we do not rank animals or plants in a tier list and we do not guess hybrid recipes. We cannot play-test, so if no source names a pairing, it is not on this site.
